Pedagogy (Innovative Teaching & Learning Methods)
Indian Retail School has highly qualified and experienced faculties and every faculty has different experiential knowledge they bring to the classroom; much like different students have different talents they bring to the classroom. IRS takes the challenge to bring these teaching and learning styles together to help the student learn. IRS adapts itself to the latest pedagogy to achieve the best teaching and learning experience.

Interactive Lecture:
It presents Retail concepts in a logical manner and contains experience which inspires and stimulates thinking to open discussion.

Group Discussion:
It pools ideas and experiences from group and allows everyone to participate in an active process.
Role Play:
It provides opportunity for students to assume roles of others and thus appreciate another point of view. It introduces prob¬lem situation dramatically, allowing students for exploration of solutions and providing opportunity to practice skills.

Report Back Session:

This allows large group discussion of role plays, case studies, and small group exercise. It gives the participants a chance to reflect on experience and work in groups and take responsibility for its operation.

Project:
This allows students to survey the market and explore the retail industry themselves without being influenced by others. Then individual thoughts can be shared in large groups.

Live Project:
In the live projects, students are exposed to the industry and opportunities are provided that helps them in hands on experience. Students are encouraged to take on live projects within different domains of the retail industry.

Case Study:
It allows students to apply new knowledge and skills. Develops analytic and problem solving skills and allows for exploration of solutions for complex issues.
Entrepreneurship Project:
This encourages students to take on the role of entrepreneurs which enables them to apply the skills gained during the pro¬gramme and developing confidence.

EduTour:

This encourages students to explore retail and management at various international destinations of prominence.

Display/Window Display:
It allows students to practice & apply the theoretical inputs.

Use of Audio Visual Tools:

It is an entertaining way of teaching contents, raising issues and stimulating discussions.

Mock shop & advanced learning techniques :
These tools allow the learners to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding and skills of a particular subject of retail through applying the principals and processes.

Industrial Visit:
This allows students to experience the retail at front and back-end operations. It also gives them hands-on experience and exposure to the various formats of Retail.
