Executive Programme in Retail Management
Part Time Prog. : Classes once a week. Duration: 1 year.
The Indian Retail Industry is contributing around 13% to the GDP and 9% employment of the national workforce. Retailing is undoubtedly offering huge opportunities and in this context of new challenges and opportunities, a new business model needs to be evolved. A programme focusing on the retail context in India and issues in retail management will add value.
Programme Objectives
The objective of this fast track part time programme is to develop competency among practitioners of organized retailing and to enable them to effectively execute leadership in store management operations and other retail brand building initiatives.

This programme will help in developing quality manpower to manage the whole retail value chain from procurement to sourcing, sourcing to standardization and packaging, and from packaging to store display and visual merchandising leading to ultimate customer satisfaction. Besides the retail professionals even those who are working in some other industry and want to switch to retail will also be immensely benefited by this programme.
Who Should Attend
This programme has been specially designed for those who seek progression in their career in retail. Working professionals with at least one year’s experience in the organized retail sector, or at least two years’ work experience in any other sector, would find the programme useful and stimulating. Senior professionals in the retail or allied sectors would also find it useful because of its coverage of the theoretical principles as well as best-practice case studies of the emerging discipline of Retail Management.
PEDAGOGY
The programme would utilize a mix of methods including:

  • Presentation & discussion led by reputed guest faculties.
In each case session, participants are expected to analyse, discuss and suggest suitable course of action for the situation assigned in the case. Equally important would be the task of understanding concepts & ideas from the reading & articles given to the standards.

Duration
The duration of the programme is one year. The classes will be held at Indian Retail School’s premises, once a week as per the following schedule:
Tuesday : 9 am to 1 pm or Saturday : 9 am to 1 pm
Eligibility
Minimum eligibility criteria is an undergraduate degree (10+2+3 or equivalent) in any discipline with 50% marks, and 1 year’s work experience in the organised Retail sector, OR 2 years’ work experience at any company.
Course Fee
Programme Fees: Rs 25000 plus taxes.
